Rings

When I was about 9 or 10 my dad took a silver quarter and drilled and hammered it into a ring. My mom has had it ever since.
Well we have been trying to find rings for our three little girls so that they can practice wearing rings all the time, great idea other then unless you buy spendy rings you can't find any of the right size, well I should say we could not find any. So we decided to make them rings out of silver coins. The first one we tried we did a silver dollar, because we could not remember for sure if it was a dollar or a quarter that moms was made out of. Well it was very pretty but it was way, way to big. So then we did a quarter and it was just right. You can make it wide and the little girls size or thinner and my size.
Any way here are pictures of the silver dollar ring and the quarter ring. Right now I do not have a picture of the little girl ring we got done but I will post it in the next couple days.

Note: Picture credits go's to Isaiah.

Silver Dollar

This is what it looks like right now, we realized that it was to big for any one so we did not finish it, we might finish just to have it, but not for any one to wear.

How do you make the hole in the middle, and how do you make the hole big enough (and smooth enough) to fit on your finger?

The hole in the middle is made with a drill, I have a picture I will add to this post. You drill it until you can get a small round file in it. Then you work it up to a biger and biger file, after a while you use a ring sizer. After you have it the right size you sand it smooth. At lest that is what I have heard, the boys made them so to get a the detail you would have to ask them or my dad. It is fun though to have a ring that some one made for you. Dad said he would make me one a little later on.
